Our breed club was founded in
1988 and received the recognition of the parent club in Norway, Norsk
Lundehund Klubb, that same year.
Paul Ross is credited with importing the
first Lundehunds to the United States. Harvey and Judy Sanderson organized
the breed club and Mr. Sanderson became its first Secretary and Registrar;
Mrs. Sanderson, Vice President; and Mr. Ross, President.
By 1995, the NLCA, Inc. had
more than 30 members across the United States and Canada. Today the club has
over 100 members.
